Meggie was an average 12-year-old girl until she found out her father, Mo’s, secret.  He had a unique ability which occurred when he read aloud. He could make characters travel in and out of the real world. As the first book in the trilogy, this wonderful book Inkheart  instantly puts you on the edge of your seat with its suspenseful plot and intriguing characters. Full of romance, action and intensity, this book is an entrancing novel which appeals to a wide group of readers. The two following books, Inkspell and Inkdeath continue the fictitious story, and a movie adaption of the book was released in 2008.

Meggie never really knew her mother as she was accidentally read into Inkheart by Mo when Meggie was only three years old. Since then things were became a lot stranger. An unknown visitor appeared at the door one evening, appearing to see Mo.

This book has been translated from German and is a well written novel that appeals to all ages.
