Magic comes to Theme Park

21 10 2009

Ever wondered what it would be like to be a wizard and live the life of Harry Potter? Well for all you Harry Potter fans out there, your dream to live the life of Harry Potter is coming. Next year a theme park is opening named “The Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter” at Universal Studios in the US. The park is being developed with help from J.K Rowling, the now well renowned British author whose books and movies have been a huge worldwide phenomenon.

The main idea of the theme park is to create a world where people can walk around and be Harry Potter and his friends for a day in the worlds of Hogwarts and the village of Hogsmeade. There are replicas for people to see and rides for people to go on.

Major theme rides such as the Flight of the Hippogriff, the Quidditch simulator and the Hogwarts Express is what the fans are going to go crazy for. The Quidditch simulator will let you experience what it is like to participate in the Triwizard Tournament and Quidditch equipment and the Golden snitch will be able to be purchased at the Hogsmeade shop.

The theme park is said to bring in the money, the books are continuing to sell with more than 400 million copies sold and it is available in an astonishing 67 languages and the movies breaking records in the box office. The theme park itself cost more than 1.22 billion dollars. They are obviously expecting some money back from it considering the books and the movies were such hits with the public and the creators say that the fans won’t be disappointed. Although J.K Rowling doesn’t need any more money, I’m sure she won’t mind the few extra million in her pocket. So what will happen when they open the theme park for the fans to come experience it for themselves? If it is as good as it is pumped up to be, this could be the new thing to ask for Christmas from children all over the world, Daddy can I fly to America to go to the Harry Potter theme park?”
