Marc’s How To Column

18 09 2009

This time I am telling you how to get free music legally or make your own and with very little effort.

There are quite a few websites that you can visit to get free songs or make new ones and in this I am going to tell you a few of them that would be a good idea to visit.

Amazon.com is the first site that can give you free music and there are a few good ones in this site as well. You just enter the site then go to MP3 Downloads. Click on Music by Price, songs and then select free. There you will find lots of songs that you can download free of charge.

OverClocked ReMix is a site that is “dedicated to the appreciation and promotion of video game music as an art form.” There are a lot of music on here (1687 remixes at last check) and they are very good songs as well. Many of the remixes come from professional-level composers. To give you an idea of the quality Capcom (a big gaming company) commissioned OC ReMix members to create the soundtrack for a recent update to Street Fighter II (A very popular gaming series).

ccMixter is a site that lets you sample, rearrange and chop-up their works. You can browse full remixes or collect samples and loops to create your own song or tune. It is a very good site because the entire community helps each other out and the more experienced people tell you what a good way is to make a remix, this is very good for if you are just starting out.

These are just some of the sites that you can get music from or remix your own songs so if you want more you just have to search the web and you will find them.
