Are Mobile Phones Affecting Your Brain’s Growth and Development?

Mobile phones, we are on them every day whether its texting, calling or just searching the net. Are they affecting our brains?  According to recent research children who use mobile phones are five times more likely to develop a type of brain tumour called glioma; this is a cancer of the glial cells which support the central nervous system.

Children are more at risk because their brains and nervous systems are still developing and since their heads are smaller and their skulls are thinner, the radiation penetrates deeper into their brains. Professor Lennart Hardell of the University Hospital in Orebro, Sweden, reports that “home cordless phones were almost as risky as mobile phones because of the radiation levels that they emit.”  He also states that, children under 12 should be banned from using mobiles except in emergencies, said: “This is a warning sign. It is very worrying. We should be taking precautions.” Those who started using a mobile phone before the age of 20 also increased the risk by five times of getting an acoustic neuroma. This is the beginning of tumours which do not cause cancer, but can damage the auditory nerve and may cause deafness in the future.

Some scientific studies have linked the use of mobiles to headaches, nausea, memory loss, brain cancer, eye cancer, tumour on the auditory nerve, and leukaemia etc. At the same time, the telecommunications industry claims that mobile phones are perfectly safe. An Australian study in 2008 showed that radiation from mobile phone affected the brain’s functions and slowed the response time to both simple and more complex reactions.

Do you trust the safety of a mobile phone still? You choose. Take care and limit the times you use mobile phones.

Well lots of people have proved that cell phones are affecting humans especially children so we should think twice before giving children cell phones.

they dont need phones and all the troubles associated with them.
why does a kid need a phone anyways?
